Mindy

The ultrasound verified what Mindy knew--it's a boy! She had a very special experience when she had her Patriarchal blessing. She saw four children standing in the room with us. She recognized that they were her future children. The oldest was a tall dark-haired boy. She has known from the moment she got pregnant that it was a boy. They are planning to name him Porter Jay Merrill. She's got the crib painted and set up in her nursery already. In a day and age where children seem to be so unwanted, it's delightful to see our girls anxious and excited to have these new little babies. (We went to Adam and Alicia's for Trystin's belated birthday party on Saturday afternoon--after the bridal shower we held--and she also has the crib all set up for her expected baby and she's not due until the first of May.)
Mindy was helping me host the bridal shower for Ashlee Gurney. She had bought several candy bars as prizes for the "Concentration" game. After her ultrasound, Clay, Mindy, and myself went out to lunch and then Clay left for work. Mindy and I went to buy more candy bars because she had eaten some of her prizes when she was having a craving for sweets. I asked her if I needed to take all the candy bars home with me that night so we'd be sure to have them for the shower. She assured me she wouldn't eat any more and she'd get them to the shower. The next day, however, she brought only the replacement candy bars that she had bought and forgot all the rest that were still at home. She might be all grown up, but she's still my favorite airhead! She and Hallie ran to the store to get more candy bars. (Now she'll have several at home that she can eat during her cravings!)

We're very excited! We're having a little baby boom on both sides of the family and with the exception of Kadon and Mindy and Clay's baby, they're all girls. Isaac needs company!

Yikes! I better get my tail in gear. The only baby furniture item we have purchased is a gate for our stairs. We know we won't need it for a while, but it was on sale at the Fred Meyers.

Please give our best to Mindy and tell her we are very excited for them!
